Black Peppermint

Form:

Colours: Purple/pink flowers from summer to autumn. Very dark brown, oval, pointed, toothed, strongly peppermint scented leaves

Care:

Hardiness: Fully hardy

Growth: speads quickly may need to be contained.

Cultivation tips:

Traditional Garden Mint

Type: Perennial

Size: Ht 45cm

Form:

Colours: Mauve flowers from summer to autumn. Green narrow serrated leaves.

Care:Cut young shoots for most tender leaves when cooking.

Hardiness: Fully hardy

Growth:likes rich compost and speads rapidly.

Cultivation tips:restrict growth by using container set into  a herb bed.

Apple Mint

I like to use this mint for mint sauce and apple mint jellies. It has a lovely furry foliage.

Pineapple Mint

Sweet, fruity mint which is lovely addition to hanging baskets.

Colours: Mauve flowers from summer to autumn. Oval hairy, variegated, green leaves.

Hardiness:  hardy

Growth:spreads more slowly than other varieties of mint.

Cultivation tips: Allow space to cover edge of pots or front of herb bed.
